The headache sits and sits, but you go to work anyway. There's a lot of clean up, scared customers everywhere. You do your best, to sort things out. But things feel strange. There's just the dulled sensation beneath your ears, a buzzing that grows louder and louder and louder with every hour. You try to push it away as best you can.

You know that voice; the new intern, Bernadette Wilkinson. Hardly says anything during meetings, but chatty on her own.
You glance up; she's working with David, listening and watching as he tends to a woman attempting to manage the damage, checking on her accounts. She looks deep in conversation, trying to assist. Her hair is pulled back today, and the broach she wears is enormous.
Diligently, you go back to the loan application on the screen. The screen feels too bright, the colors too garish, and god, the soudn in your ears keeps ramping up and up and up.
I mean really -- It's not that hard of a deal to take. We can't even do half of these things you want.
"Bernadette," you say sharply. She looks up, bewildered.
Her lips do not move. Fuck, what does she want?
You close your eyes and you really, really hope that this is not what going crazy feels like.
